Meet your captain: Dan Scully
"We've gotten to know Dan, and his wife Penny, quite well over the past several years. What a delight they are. They are really living the dream. It is fun to talk to them about it. Just don't ask Dan how he likes "retirement"!!"
|
The Captain began his illustrious sailing career on a small lake in New England at the tender age of eight. A small row boat, rigged with a discarded broom handle and a bed sheet seemed to do the trick. But when you're only eight, that's quite a vessel. As a teenager he sailed the coast of Maine in the summers. He later sailed in Rhode Island's Narragansett Bay. And he taught his daughters to sail on family vacations. In 1994 his wife Penny took him on a sailing trip in St. Martin. The captain of the boat let him take the helm and the dream was born. Not long after that, they quit their jobs, put the house up for sale and bought Chocolat Blanc. Now they invite you to come to the islands and share their dream for awhile. |
Private
party day sails
Private party day sails are just
that. The boat is yours for the day.
Up to 4 guests are $650 for the
day. Additional guests at $50 per person.
This includes beverages of
your choice, water, soft drinks, beer and, of course, rum punch. Lunch
on shore is at your expense.
Short
term charters (1-5 days)
Short term charters are great for
those who do not have any experience sailing and want to try it without
committing to a full week. The daily rate is 1/7 of the week rate plus
10%.
Full
term charters (normally a week)
A captain only charter is the perfect
answer for those who want to plan their own charter with their own party, but want someone
else to take responsibility for the boat. You determine the schedule and
itinerary. You would provision the
boat, have full use of the galley and BBQ, and be able to enjoy as many meals ashore as
you like.
Sailing
School
Dan is an American Sailing
Association certified instructor and he enjoys getting people involved with
sailing. He offers ASA courses at $100 per person per course. You
purchase your materials from Amazon.com. What a great opportunity to
combine sailing instruction and a vacation in the Virgin Islands. How good
can it get?!!!
