Meet your crew: Tom Coleman & Melony

Captain Tom Coleman's love of the water began in his childhood of wakeboarding and waterskiing in the Finger Lakes of New York. After completing a degree in "Environmental Studies and International Development" and living in Uganda and Mexico, he began crewing on charter yachts. Tom has skippered catamarans and monohulls, from luxury cruisers to performance racers. An avid racer, he has competed in regattas throughout the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. He has crossed the Atlantic twice, sextant in hand, to learn the traditional skills of sailing. Tom looks forward to the opportunity to take you sailing on such a classic, stunning beauty as Happy Time. As a USCG Master Captain and RYA Yachtmaster Ocean, you will be in safe hands as he shows you the most stunning snorkel spots and secluded beaches in the Virgin Islands.

As the daughter of a Maine lobsterman, Chef and First Mate Melony Jones has the ocean in her blood. A skilled sailor and skipper in her own right, Melony is a former sailing instructor and racer. She is always happy to share her passion with those new and old to the sport. Having completed a degree in "Recreation, Adventure Travel and Ecotourism," studied in culinary courses overseas, and with years of restaurant experience both cooking and serving, Melony knows a thing or two about food and hospitality. As a charter yacht chef, guests love her flavorful meals and are pleasantly surprised to find out that they are healthy too.

Guest comments:

Let me start off by saying that the trip was amazing.  I wasn't sure what to expect, especially since my wife is prone to sea-sickness, but this trip was better than either one of us could have ever imagined.  From the moment we met Tom on the dock to the moment they dropped us off at Caneel Bay's dock, they constantly took care of us and gave us the trip of a lifetime.  The meals were incredible and absolutely flawless.  We didn't know what to expect and were absolutely blown away.  Avery and I have eaten at many nice restaurants all over the world and I have to say that each meal we had could be served at a 4-star gourmet restaurant.  We had an amazing itinerary.  It was so great, that we purchased a map of the BVIs and are going to frame it and include each night's anchorage to preserve our incredible memories.  I would highly recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat and we felt absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to sail throughout the most beautiful part of the world with them on a great catamaran.   T.Boggs.....2/11
