Meet the new crew: James & Cat
James,
who is Yachtmaster Ocean qualified, grew up in a sailing family and has
enjoyed being on the water since being introduced to the seafaring life in
his early years by his grandfather. He has many fond memories of family
sailing holidays on the Norfolk Broads where he grew up, and sailing
Northern Scotland on his family’s annual trips. He has been a
professional yachtsman since leaving school, and has twelve years
professional skippering experience in the UK, Mediterranean and Caribbean,
as well as several ocean passages. James is a keen water sports
enthusiast and enjoys pretty much anything water borne! Off the water he
enjoys mountain walking, camping and is a keen car enthusiast.
Cat has always enjoyed cooking and entertaining. She loves to create a variety of dishes from around the world presented with artistic flair. She studied at University in Bristol gaining a BA(Hons) in Cultural and Media Studies, specialising in photography. She caught the traveling bug during a gap year, and took off on a worldwide backpacking adventure! Since then she has traveled the globe extensively. She decided to pursue a career as a chef in the yachting industry after meeting James and working as a flotilla hostess in the Mediterranean. She gained her cooking qualifications at The Gables School of Cookery, which is a school specifically designed for the challenge’s associated with working in the yachting industry and since then has gained a reputation for delivering dishes that dazzle her guests. In her spare time she loves to travel the world, and actively enjoys many outdoor pursuits, on and off the water,including; sailing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, diving,hiking and tennis. |
